Seed Lot
Finally, plants that will grow in terrariums and vivariums that you can start from seed!
This is a SEED LOT consisting of 3 different plant varieties...
PLEASE NOTE: These seeds are best germinated outside of the vivarium or terrarium, like you would other plant seeds. Once the plants grow large enough they can then be transplanted into their final positions within the frog habitats.
Saxifraga stolonifera (Strawberry Begonia) -- 10 seeds
Begonia prismatocarpa -- 10 seeds
Begonia lichenora -- 10 seeds
These miniature-sized plants are easy to grow and make great beginner plants for terrariums. Begonia seeds need light to germinate, so simply scatter the seeds across the surface of the potting mix and press them against the surface of the soil, making sure not cover the tiny seeds.
These little begonias will stay around 4”-8" tall and need high humidity and moist soil, but will not do well if they dry out out or if they sit in water-logged soil. They can spread and form a thick carpet on the substrate, so pruning will eventually be needed to keep them under control. Begonias prefers moderate to high light, but will become pale with too many photons.
