Sphagnum moss serves many purposes in a vivarium and can be used in a variety of ways. It is a critical ingredient in most vivarium soil mixes, and it's used as a top substrate layer which helps to keep the soil from continuously sticking to frogs. Known for its anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties sphagnum moss helps to keep humidity high and it lasts a long time. In many instances it will become live again and start growing long, green fibers which really brings the vivarium to life.
